    27th Letter Books is a worker-owned bookstore (as well as Black-owned, woman-owned, Filipino-owned, neurodivergent-owned, veteran-owned, & cancer-survivor-owned) that hopes to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, and makes books accessible for everyone by treating them as necessities, not luxuries, through a book-buying model that allows readers from all social classes to engage with buying and owning books.

    Sanctuary Farms

    Sanctuary Farms is an urban farm and nature sanctuary in Jefferson Chalmers aspiring to transition to a cooperative structure whose goals are to 1) cultivate organic produce, 2) create nutritious compost and 3) provide equitable green spaces to historically disadvantaged communities. With these aims they want to foster a thriving community on the lower eastside of Detroit where people are safe, healthy and connected to their local environment and food by actively being involved in closing the food loop.

  • Motor City Mobile Wellness

    Motor City Mobile Wellness is creating an alternative network of care in Detroit, providing individual and community healing support that combines compassion and expertise for safer responses apart from the carceral system. MCMW offers a variety of holistic wellness services and resources to Detroiters. Our cooperative of healing practitioners operates outside of the medical industrial complex to address the spectrum of wellness needs of Detroiters, and believes Detroiters deserve access to safe, person and community centered wellness services that honor our dignity. We are committed to first listening to the expressed needs of communities, and then building networks of diverse care that allows healing within community. Our practitioners operate from a social justice and abolitionist lens that increases access to holistic wellness practices and resources that affirm the whole person and/or community.

  • Stitching Up Detroit | southwest

    Stitching Up Detroit is a youth-led print cooperative in Southwest Detroit that provides high quality graphic design, textile screen-printing, poster printing, and vinyl. Founded in 2012 as an after school collective, Stitching Up Detroit has grown into a full service print shop and Cooperative business. We offer high quality t-shirts, sweatshirts, canvas bags, decals, posters, and more.

  • Radical Productions | southwest

    Radical Productions is a youth-led worker-owned intergenerational tech coop, designing and developing websites, software, and digital assets for small to mid-sized businesses and nonprofits. Radical Productions listens to community needs and uses their technology skills to create innovative solutions to complex community problems. Members have training in basic and intermediate computer coding languages, including HTML, Java Script, back-end programming, and Node.js. They are also proficient in graphic design and CSS.

    Southwest Equitable Internet Initiative | southwest

    SW EII is a community-run Internet network partnered with Detroit Community Technology Project (DCTP) and based out of Grace in Action Collectives expanding the existing network in Southwest Detroit by building out fiber infrastructure. The hybrid network will include fiber to the home, point-to-point wireless, and public hotspots to connect families to affordable, high speed, community-built Internet. Rates to get connected are sliding scale from $10 to $30!

    Data Driven Detroit

    Data Driven Detroit (D3) is a worker co-op and social enterprise that collects, analyzes, interprets, and shares high-quality data to drive informed decision-making and increase data-driven outcomes in Detroit and our region. D3 conducts workshops, trainings, and presentations across metro Detroit to increase data literacy; partners with nonprofits, foundations, universities, government agencies, community groups, businesses and individuals to create and execute data projects tailored to support their work; and provides free public access to a variety of interactive data tools, maps, visualizations, and processed datasets.
